This Spring i worked on a semester long research project wherein I analyzed the role of race in communication, specifically within the medium of Video Games. The games included in my research in order of appearance were as follows;- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas- Far Cry 5- Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus- Resident Evil 5- Call of Duty: Black Ops- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)- Mafia III- Bioshock Infinite- Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role Playing Game- Fallout: New Vegas- Fallout 4I ultimately determined from my research that each game communicates race in a different manner. Specifically, GTA communicates racial stereotypes, whereas Far Cry 5 fails to communicate any aspect of race. The games in the Fallout series have their own unique way of communicating race by creating their own fictional races.Writing 15 pages about video games was very enjoyable and I learned to perceive some of my favorite games from a new perspective.

This legendary game accomplished quite a lot by winning several "Game of the Year" awards and becoming the fourteenth best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time. All of which has led to us seeing 9 more additions to the series so far for this action-adventure, hack and slash video game.Cool facts about the game:• David Jaffe, the game director and creator of the first game, was heavily inspired by Capcom’s game 'Onimusha' and to no surprise the 1981 feature film, 'Clash of the Titans'.• There has been talks of a God of War live-action film/series in the works since 2005. Each player will get special action figures, and on the table will be a map divided into game zones. To make a move, you'll need to click on the screen to roll the game dice. Falling numbers determine the number of moves you have to make. The first player to reach a certain zone on the map with his figurine wins.
