From his high-profile romance with Vanessa Hudgens to his rumored fling with former co-star Alexandra Daddario, it's safe to say that Zac Efron's dating history includes a long list of famous faces. And if we're being completely honest, it's been pretty challenging to keep track.
Though it seems like it was only yesterday when we learned about his relationship with Australian model Vanessa Valladares, it appears the High School Musical alum is now single. While speaking to Men’s Health magazine about his love life in 2022, he said, “I’ve really been taking time to focus on, you know, self-fulfillment and trying to find my groove. I know that probably when I meet the right person, it’s going to be when I least expect it.”
Something tells us the Iron Claw star won't stay single for much longer. But in the meantime, we're taking a take a look at Zac Efron's relationship history.
1. Vanessa Hudgens

High SchoolMusicalfans will recall that Efron and Hudgens were Disney Channel's biggest "it" couple. After meeting on the set of the first musical film, they started dating as teenagers in 2005. But Hudgens didn't publicly confirm the relationship until 2007, when Efron appeared in her music video for "Say OK."
On theAwards Chatterpodcast, Hudgens said, “It started off really organically, and I could not have been more grateful to have that relationship at that time. We kind of blew up—it was this massive phenomenon and all eyes were on me and it’s just a really foreign, weird thing to go through—but by being in a relationship, I feel like it kind of kept me stabilized and grounded. I had someone to lean on who was going through it as well.”
After five years together, the high-profile couple parted ways in December 2010. And according to Hudgens, long distance was a big reason for the split. Per The Hollywood Reporter, she said, “Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what. When you don’t have face-to-face time, it's just different. Having an iPhone helped, but it just wasn’t the same.”
2. Lily Collins

Though their relationship was not confirmed, Efron has been romantically linked to hisExtremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile co-star, Lily Collins, even before they worked together. The two were seen holding hands on Valentine's Day in 2012, while spending time together in West Hollywood. Just three months later, however, they ended things.
A source told Glamour, “They're no longer together... it was just a casual thing and it fizzled… They were never in the same place at the same time.”

Efron and his formerNeighborsco-star, Sage, started dating in April 2014. A source confirmed the relationship withE! News and said, “They are definitely an item. They were seeing each other a bit during the filming of their movie together, and ever since he went to rehab, they got a lot closer. Her friends love him and say he is so sweet. He’s really good to her.”
Unfortunately, their romance ended in July 2014, but the pair reportedly rekindled their relationship in December 2019, after Efron called it quits with former athlete Sarah Bro. In January 2020, a source toldUsWeekly, "They are in a serious relationship and in love." But once again, their romance was short-lived.
4. Michelle Rodriguez

After PDA pics of Efron and theFast and the Furiousstar surfaced in 2014, outlets reported that they were in a relationship. The two were first spotted kissing on a yacht in Sardinia, Italy, and just a few weeks later, they were seen together in Ibiza, Spain.
One source told E! News, "Michelle is super-cool and laid-back and Zac has always been attracted to her because of that. She's one of those people that everyone likes, she just gets on with all kinds of people and doesn't take the fame thing too seriously."
After just two months of dating, however, news got out that the couple broke up. A source toldE! News, “It was never that serious. No one ever really thought of them as together, just more of a summer fling and nothing serious.”
5. Sami Miró

The Greatest Showman actor started dating the model and entrepreneur in 2014. While discussing her publicized relationship with Efron in 2015, Miró toldElle, "It’s definitely different. I think that you have to take that [kind of attention] with a grain of salt, and put yourself in other people’s positions. I think that’s a really big part of it, putting yourself in their shoes and trying to understand where they’re coming from, and then it kind of makes sense. It kind of just comes with the territory, and I know there’s no really changing that, so you just have to embrace it."
Two years after they started dating, Efron and Miró went their separate ways in 2016. A source toldE! News,"It wasn’t an easy breakup. Distance and work schedules got in the way with their relationship, and Zac wanted to focus on his career."
6. Sarah Bro
In March 2019, fans started to suspect that Efron and the Olympic swimmer were an item after they were spotted together on multiple occasions, including at a UFC match in Las Vegas. A source toldE! Newsthat the pair "looked like they were having a great time" at the event, although they were "not overly publicly affectionate."
Bro and Efron were reportedly dated for about a year before they ended things in January 2020. A source toldUs Weekly, “The relationship just wasn’t working out. She came back to L.A., and it never got going again.”
7. Vanessa Valladares

According to Daily Mail, Efron met the Australian model in 2020, while she was working as a waitress at Byron Bay's General Store café in Australia. One source confirmed to People,"Zac met Ness earlier in the summer. They started hanging out in July and recently took a ski trip together...You can tell that they are having fun. She spends a lot of time at this house."
The happy couple were spotted together several times during the Covid-19 pandemic, but in April 2021, a source confirmed toPeoplethat they parted ways. They said, "Zac broke things off with Vanessa recently. It just didn’t feel right to him anymore." In addition, Efron's pal and Australian radio host, Kyle Sandilands, confirmed onThe Kyle and Jackie O Show (per Elle),"Well, it’s not just theDaily Telegraph[reporting on the breakup]. I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday. Because I heard the rumors...They’ve gone their separate ways. No drama. It’s done. He’s back to work."
8. What Is Zac Efron's Relationship Status?

As we mentioned before, Efron has opened up about prioritizing self-fulfillment over his love life these days, and by the looks of his social media, he isn't dating anyone at the moment.
Throughout his career, the star has been pretty candid about how challenging it is to navigate the dating scene. He told the U.K. Times in 2016, “Dating is something I’ll never be able to do. As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another, I’ve impacted that person’s life and they’ll soon realize it. A date has to be very long to dispel whatever people think about me.”
Still, it appears that the actor is enjoying his single life to the fullest. Keep thriving, Zac.
